Is it possible to get infected by CANCER by touching the patient?

If the mother of my friend has cancer in the intestines, and my friend every every day comes to my home and sits with me, just like the whole day, can she hold the disease and infect any of my family if they already has the ability to catch it? cz ive heard that its not about infection, its about the ability of the person to catch it!! so do its cells live on matters or objects, like doors, chairs or whatever, or i should touch her mother or how to get infected if someone has the ability to be infected? i mean in which way of contact does the cancer transport?
