High White Blood Cell Count?

I have been vomiting and had a pain near my intestines on the right that was caused by the vomiting on a bad position while I was vomiting. I went to the doctor and the blood test results was high white blood cell count. I am leaving for the doctor to do more testing.. what might the high white blood cell count result in. A disease? I want to know what could possibly happen.
